Installing new fonts

Installing new fonts
Hi. I just upgraded to a Win 10 machine and GIMP 2.10 from Win 7/2.8. Any guidance on installilng TTF fonts would be appreciated.

No difference from Gimp 2.8 the font files should go in your Gimp 2.10 profile.
C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\fonts
All sorts of users, have all sorts of problems, with fonts in Windows. Difficult to say it it an issue with Windows or User or font-file or Gimp. I blame Windows but sometimes it is an malformed font. Gimp 2.10 seems a little more picky than 2.8
At least if they are in the Gimp profile, easy to get rid of them, which is not always the case when installed in Windows fonts folder
Two other options here are to store the fonts outside of those installed on the system, and point GIMP to this new folder from preferences. Another option is to google Font Frenzy and try the snapshot button so there is a restore point for your current fonts, Load any new fonts you'd like to, And run from there. A word of caution with fonts tho. The more you have, the slower GIMP will open.
