Designing larger size graphics
Hello,
I'm building an arcade cabinet and trying to design my own panel
graphics. I'm starting with the sides that measure 37"W x 74"H. I want
a crisp image that isn't too pixelated.
I'm probably going to be using images from google. It's actually going
to be an Iron Maiden theme.
What kind of res/ppi should I be looking for that is going to
translate to something that large?
You best bet is either 300 or 500 as far as the dpi is concerned. The more pixels there are the better the quality. However be mindful that doing this also expands the file size so if your working on an older computer it might get tricky because you could overload the data flow RAM, or ROM, which could kill the computer entirely.
Since your doing illustrations instead of photo's 300 would be ideal.
