banging on about GIFs ...

Sorry to bang on about the gif thing .... but .... Imagemagick saves in gif without any dire warnings of being sued ... Is it possible that ImageMagic saves its gifs legaly ??

It's legal as long as you use the gifs for non-commercial use. For that matter, GIMP can save as GIF and it doesn't give you warnigns either.
