rgb to cmyk

I have a problem. I would like to lay out an Image to be sent to a print shop it is supposed to be in cymk color space but apparently gimp only supports rgb. Am I out of luck here or is there any way to convert rgb to cmyk? What would happen if it was just sent in rgb? BTW I saved it as a post script file and converted it to a .pdf, will this take care of the problem or will the pdf file also be in rgb?
