GIMP 2.6.8 released!

The developers fixed many bugs in version 2.6.8 which is a new release in the stable branch of GIMP.

As always, updates in the stable branch of GIMP include mostly bugfixes and translation updates! Also there is a bugfix included that fixes a bug that occurred on many Windows operating systems when pressing backspace while using the free select tool.

    It isn't in the main repos for ubuntu koala yet.

    Personally, I'm very much looking forward to a release of 2.8.

    Is there a ballpark figure for it's release date ?

    Does anyone have the problem that some fonts previews show up as Chinese letters? They didn't in 2.6.7

    I'm wondering if it's a bug or just something wrong on my side.

    i installed 2.6.8 and now my drawing tools (pencil, pen, airbrush etc) do not draw in color, only a mid-grey. i use windows xp pro sp2. any suggestions?

    Cheryl, check under image -> mode
    and see it it's set to grayscale. If so, set it to RGB mode.
