How good are you at programming?

OMG, that is nothing for me at all!

I've been coding a little bit but I'm not very fit at it

I'm pretty good at programming and would maybe be able to write a Plug-In for GIMP

I'm very good at programming and I would theoretically be able to hack for the GIMP core

GIMP development now using Git instead of SVN

In the course of the migration of alle Gnome projects from SVN to Git, a decentralised version control system, GIMP has moved too. The developers use Git since last Friday.

The most current BABL/GEGL/GIMP version ("master" branch) can be fetched using these commands:
git clone git://git.gnome.org/babl
git clone git://git.gnome.org/gegl
git clone git://git.gnome.org/gimp

There's also a Web interface that shows all changes and patches: http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gimp/

sounds pretty good but i don't understand why they switched to git, since they have migrated to svn from cvs not long ago... nevertheless - git is gnomes versioning system - so its legitime in my opinion
