sharpen broken

Hi,

recently I noticed sharpen was broken on 2.6.11 and suspected a local build problem. Yesterday , I wanted to encourage a friend to look at GIMP on windoze and was embarrassed when he hit the same issue, so here's more detail:

dlg come up with default value about half way up. No visible difference to image. Clicking preview on/off , no diff . Slider no diff.

Seems the filter is a NOP.

I cancelled out.

Next visit to the filter menu I see "redo sharpen" . Curious I click.

It shows a progress bar and makes no changes. (filter is a NOP)

This seems to be a second issue. Since I cancelled it cannot "redo" anything. Where does it get the parameters to redo something I never did.

Indeed , why is the filter even in the menu as a redo when I never used it ?!

regards , gg

Hi,

since "things are moving", quick note :

all image windows get the title "GNU image manipulation program"

When more that one image is open (most of the time) this is not helpful. The window represents one specific file/image , why is this not displayed?

Instead of glancing up at the title of the window I have to start paddling around the menus to get this most basic information.

If the image is unsaved it would could a classic "untitled-xxx" A name will be given as / when needed but at least that would at least identify it temporarily.

it is on my 12.1 openSUSE gimp-2.6.11

maybe your window manager is over-riding or preventing the window title display ???

Thanks, that's odd. Other apps like firefox get proper title bars and the other gimp windows get their titles like "toolbox" . Why no the image window?

just found this popping up in console when I open a named file. Maybe this error is causing setting of the title to be skipped.

lcms: skipping conversion because profiles seem to be equal: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
sRGB built-in

any idea what that is about.

I wouldn't know why, lcms is color profiling. google lcms

As a point of perhaps useful information to the developers, this began happening for me after a Gtk upgrade (without touching Gimp) on each box; I suspect Gimp is using a deprecated or unsupported API behavior for naming toplevels, and the Gtk upgrade finally broke it. I haven't gotten around to debugging it myself.
