Hi Jamie,

Sorry about the lack of immediate replies.

We had a design mockup that was considerably close to what we'd like to have. Unfortunately that's where it ended so far.

We will be glad to work with whoever gets this done :) Be it collaboration with that other designer or work done inside one company.

Hey Jaime,
This is the latest revision I had completed, although I have yet to incorporate Alexandre/everyone's feedback into it: http://1sixty.com/030412_GIMP_Homepage.png

If you'd like to hit me directly, I can catch you up to speed on where I'm at with this redesign. Thanks!

GIMP is GIMP, not Gimp...

Unfortunately, like someone before me said, we got a mock up done and then the project died. I was just waiting for another mock up to be made so that I can code the site.

And to whoever designed the first one, could you please make each button, background, etc. into their own images so that it's easier for me to code/make the site? That would be much appreciated!

Website

By the way, in the mockup mentioned earlier ( http://1sixty.com/030412_GIMP_Homepage.png), it'd be nice if the "Get Involved" section included a link to some type of official GIMP forum... I'd rather visit one official forum than all the many unofficial gimp forums out there...

Something like this would be nice: forum.gimp.org or community.gimp.org or bbs.gimp.org or something along those lines.

It'd be even nicer if gimp users could create profiles somewhere on gimp.organd upload/showcase their works. You'd log in only once to be able to
access this along with the forum.

If you're going to make a new website, why not make one with awesome new features for the gimp community, not just new looks? Gimp (GIMP, but I like Gimp better) needs something to unify it's global community into one place. The perfect place for that is on gimp.org, not spread all over different sites.

(Continued) Just an idea: GimpTalk.com seems to be the most popular Gimp forum... Perhaps they'd be willing to migrate onto gimp.org? talk.gimp.orgcould be their domain name... After that's all set up, one could set up a
universal log in system so that users only need to log in one time anywhere on gimp.org.

Basically, all I'm trying to say is that GIMP should have one central community located on gimp.org.
