Would you like to see or even participate in GFX contests hosted by gimpusers.com?

Yes, but prices for winners are important!

Yes, GFX contests are a good idea! It brings community together even if there are no prices available

No, contests are not important

Maybe, it is however not a tragedy if there are no contests. I don't care much.

I suggest you setup a wordpress install with the GIMP theme and all and
we can work from there. The best way to persuade people of a new design
and website system is to let them try a working prototype first. I'm not
convinced yet a wordpress install would be the best solution.

Thanks!

Martin

"Background" as in "the story behind the discussion that was not
mentioned", Joe.

Hey all, let's make some awesome forums,

And an awesome sub-domain dedicated to tutorials! Let's have on there some
nice tutorials like on gimp-tutorials.net.

If we build the Forums, have artist, developer profiles, and build the
community, GIMP will take of much further than it already is! I'm hyped on
gimp, especially since it's open source! Let's make something big happen!

Who's down?

Hey,

like Alexandre, I'd be interested in the background of this. The
registry could certainly contribute, if that is desired.

cheers, Ingo
