How good are you at programming?

OMG, that is nothing for me at all!

I've been coding a little bit but I'm not very fit at it

I'm pretty good at programming and would maybe be able to write a Plug-In for GIMP

I'm very good at programming and I would theoretically be able to hack for the GIMP core

Hello,

1) GuG seems to be down (I get 404 for at least 2 days now). It's the only
page that is linked relatively prominent on every gimp.org page in the main
menu. Why? I think this can be removed. If I remember correctly, GuG was
inuseable (forum spammed etc) since a long time.

2) I can check all links from http://www.gimp.org/links/ and update them. I'd
also create a "blogs" heading with appropriate links.

Is it OK when I do this and send you an SVN diff?

What happened to GuG? I remember being there a couple times, but the
site was always insanely slow, like you had to wait 2 minutes for it to
load. Also on the gimp.org/links page number two from top under
tutorials doesn't seem to load. (the one called Pointers to
GIMP-tutorials).

What I really wanted to say though was that I stumbled over a list of
Gimp resources the other day in case you need help finding links:
http://www.allgraphicdesign.com/graphicsblog/2008/10/22/gimp-resources-ultimate-list-of-gimp-sites-plugins-tutorials-oh-my/

You of course don't have to use it, I just thought it was a pretty
extensive list (it even included my little tutorial site gtuts.com).

Those changes sound sane to me. A patch would be appreciated.
