Script-Fu Scripts

Just a quick question, if we edit one of the Script-Fu scripts in the default install of Gimp, do we need to contact the author of said script before we release our modified version, legally that is.

The GPL applies to the scripts distributed with The GIMP. Please read this license carefully, it should answer all your questions.
