Gimp jpeg compression

Hi,

Can enyone tell me if there is any way of changing the default jpeg compression ratio for the save option.

To ensure you you don't lose any quality after moding a jpeg I am currently forced to do a save as and manually setting the compression ratio to 1.

any help would be appretiated.

Yes, open plug-ins/common/jpeg.c in your favorite editor, change the default value and recompile.

To ensure that you don't lose any quality, you should really be using a different format than JPEG which is always a lossy format.
