need silver ribbon

Our school is having a silver anniversary and I have been struggling with how to make a silver ribbon that will wind through the logo. I have tried gradients, though I´m not really skilled with editing gradients yet, and noise, but can´t get the shading satisfactorily. Could anyone guide on this? Anything available in a tutorial?
