Hi there, okay, I fixed my own problem, but I wanted to post this on the list because I was interested if anyone came across this problem:

I was happily playing with logos... then my computer froze on me, couldn't even switch to command line. So I restarted. I launched the gimp and my computer froze again, tried again..same thing. It would start til the splash screen said it was was: looking for data files /home/rachael/.gimp-1.2/parasiterc

So I got mad and rm the parasiterc and had no problems after that. Loaded up just fine. But stupid me forgot to actually look at what parasiterc was. Anyways, just wondering if anyone had this happen to them before?

This kind of error sometimes occurs in it. It's quite normal. But you need to restart it and i hope your problem will be solved by doing this.
