Extending the keyboard shortcuts...

Hey everyone, I'm new to the list. Former photoshop user, now I have Gimp on

Ubuntu linux and Gimpshop on Gentoo linux.

Anyway, as for my question... I've been doing some keyboard customization recently.
In short, I made it so my caps lock key functions like another Alt button. I wanted
to do it to allow more shortcuts in Gimp and the like. But Gimp's keyboard shortcuts
dialog won't accept the keystroke . I tested it out with Gnome's keyboard
shortcuts, so I know it works.

How can I make Gimp recognize ?
