gimp -?

What do i need to put in the command line of gnome to open a image when clicking on it ?

When i just put gnome it works except it loads a new gimp for each image instead of opening the image in the already running gimp.

It's something like 'gimp-remote'

Try searching for that or similar.

How would you indicate to gimp that you wanted to open a "new" instance or add to an "existing" instance?

*That* is the reason to have "gimp-remote".

gimp -e or some other -parameter that you can look up in man gimp?

Sure. IIRC, there's a long-standing bug report on this. Patches are welcome.
