gimp 2.8.22 opening slow

I recently updated to 2.8.22 and now when I open GIMP, it does a full font check and load every time. It used to do this if I added a font but if no fonts had been added, it would open quickly. Am i missing something here? Thanks,

gimp 2.8.22 opening slow

I hadn't realised it was out. It was only a week or so ago I checked for the latest version and upgraded to 2.8.22. Yes I'll do that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can you move to 2.10 now that it’s out?
