How to open GIMP using F1 key

Dear users,

3 of our users have GIMP 2.8.14 installed on their systems: HP Laptops with Win 7.

With the app closed, if they press the F1 key it opens the selection tool of GIMP and they can select and paste whatever captured in Outlook, Word, etc.

1 of the users got a new laptop with Win 10, after completing setup and installing the current version of GIMP - I cannot find where or how to map the F1 key to perform this function. Is that still available with Win 10?

I already disabled the F1 = Win Help.

Any help would be appreciated,

This is either a very custom GIMP (and I have no idea who'd have done this), or a totally different application. Maybe the Windows snipping tool?

How do you know it's GIMP?

And what does "whatever captured" mean?

I am familiar with the windows snipping tool, and have the user using this as an alternative until I can figure out how/if the F1 key shortcut can be enabled with GIMP and Win 10.

Thanks to both of you for the replies.

Alex > when F1 is pressed the selection tool of GIMP is opened, and once a selection is made the GIMP editing tools, etc become available, and there is the GIMP icon in the taskbar. By "whatever captured" I am referring to the use of the selection tool. Once a selection is made, everything within the selection is captured, and the GIMP options become available to edit, save as specific file type, etc.

Hi Alex and Michael,

Turns out I was completely off. The program is called Gadwin Printscreen. As I went through our ticket history for the client, found out it was initially believed GIMP was the tool, but it was Gadwin working with GIMP and with some customization. Gadwin enables a selection tool by pressing F1 and then the captured image can be edited with GIMP.

Please excuse the confusion and thanks for replying.
