Colour noise when opening RAW

When I open a RAW file in GIMP using FRAW I get this extreme colour noise. I have attached a screen shot. I am quite new to GIMP so any help would be appreciated :D

Is that recent camera? The UFRaw plugin is slowly getting obsolete. There are several other good and active open-source demosaicing applications and even one that is available as a Gimpplugin (Photoflow).
