Question about save the line coordinates of the pencil or airbrush only

Hi, All,

I just started to use GIMP to trace the boundary of some objects on an image. I have used the (transparent) layer to (hand) draw the boundary so that I can save the traced boundary only.
I do have a question. I do not know how to save the traced boundary in a text file with the coordinate only: (row, col) or (x,y). Could someone help me? It is urgent.
I think the one of the inputs to pencil or airbrush is an array of the coordinates when hand-drawing: (s.x1, s.y1), (s.x2, s.y2).... Does anyone know how to save the coordinates only?
Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,

Joshua

Question about save the line coordinates of the pencil or airbrush only

Hi.

Use the Path Tool (and don't forget to open the Paths dialog to be able to deal weith it properly).
Pinpoint your needed coordinates as nodes of a path, and them save that path to disk.

It will be in SVG format (for gimp>=2.0 ) , but the coordinates can be read inside there.

JS
