strange behaviour of the input devices dialogue

Hi,

I am using gimp 2.8.14 under Ubunto with a HUION H610PRO graphics tablet.

The good news: it works. However, when I open the input devices dialogue, and select "HUION Pen Tablet Pen", this button is highlighted as expected; but hitting the save button results in an error beep and the dialogue is not closed as expected.
Any idea what goes wrong or what I am doing wrongly?
