Removing white background bug

Hello. I've been trying every type of selection, mask, layer, hue, saturation, white balance... I think I've tried everything in the last 4 hours.

I can't remove the white background of this image. If I try to make it transparent it will become edgy/pixelated. Yes I've tried blur also, and glow, and stroke line.

I tried
(1) click the fuzzy select tool on the solid white area (2) grow the selection by one pixel (to avoid a white halo at the end) with select->grow selection
(3) feather the selection - I used 1 pixel but you might want 1.5 or 2 with select->feather
(4) edit->cut

Hi,
The tool I usually use for these types of jobs (Scissor-tool) did not work well.
The best method that I found for this one was to use the eraser and remove pixel-per-pixel.
Attaching my result, if you want to use it.

Did you try to use the fuzzy select tool? I just did a rough try at it and it removed 95+% of the white. Then a little touch-up with the eraser should do it. You didn't indicate whether you created the image or not. If you did then I would suggest choosing a transparent background when you reat the original and save it as a file type that supports transparency.
