Installing User Manual

Question - just how does one install the user manual on a Mac running Maverick 10.9.5? There are times when I am downloading a large file and do not want to slow it down by having to access the HTML Help Manual.

As an alternative you could try a PDF version

The one from here http://gimp.linux.it/www/meta/ is up to date.

Excellent version, indexed and searchable.
