Template/ image properties/ Description tab/Author

I'm trying to set up a template so that I'm set as the author by default. I go to Image properties/ Description tab/Author and fill that out, create a template and make sure it's created in it's folder; but when i reopen the template in gimp, the fields are blank for author etc . The other values like size seem to be saved
