winicon plugin under GIMP 2.x, linux

Hi everyone,

Has any of you succeeded in installing the GIMP winicon plugin under GIMP version 2.x, Linux?

Seems to me, it's only been written for version 1.2, and there was someone nice enough to port to 2.x, but only for Windows.

Hi,
I am not answering your question about the plugin.

I am asking what do you need a winicon for? Because if it is for WEB purposes, you can save your image as PNG rather than winicon, and make the world a better place - there is no longer need for these winicons.

It's part of the GIMP CVS tree and also in the development snapshot gimp-2.1.0.
