tiff file diminishment

Hello,
I have a tiff file that I would like to make smaller. But after having done the transformation with the transform tool the quality of the picture is quite bad. The same transformation looks fine if the original image is in jpg format for example.

Is there a way to have a good looking small tiff file after the diminishment or is this problem typical for tiff files?

Thanx very much in advance, Martin Holler

Sorry, but why are you using the transform tool for this? "Scale Image" seems a lot better suited.

Regarding your question, the file format shouldn't make any difference.
