How to multiple-copy image, with offset?

I would like to copy an image multiple times, each one with an offset in the vertical direction - thus forming a composite picture, from an original thin strip... lets say I have an image, & I want to copy it upwards, say 10 times ie. copy up 0+y bits, paste, repeat, at position 0+2y... etc... how to do it?

Sounds like you want to use one of the Tile plug-ins.

You could also check out "montage" which is part of Imagemagick. -----

Thanks Timothy,

'montage' was indeed able to do what I wanted to achieve... thanks so much...
