Letter-Spacing with the Text tool

I'm using Gimp 1.3 on ximian Linux. How do I change the spacing between the letters? Thanks!

You can not (yet) do this. See also http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120268

Until this is implemented, you will have to use the gimp-freetype plug-in (http://freetype.gimp.org/) if you need to adjust letter spacing.
