just curious, what is involved for developing for gimp? What would I need to do? I know a C++ would be good, and a compiler. ----- Original Message ---

GIMP is written in C, not C++. Basic knowledge about GObject will certainly help and so does some experience with GTK+. If your question is about what is needed to compile GIMP, then please read the files INSTALL and HACKING as found in the GIMP source tree.

I think the best way to answer this question is to point you to the Gimp Developers web site, http://developer.gimp.org , where it is answered quite thoroughly.

Best, -- Bill
