Gimp 2.0pre2 AMD64 Mandrake 9.2 RPM package

Hi,

It might interest some of you that I have build a Gimp 2.0pre2 Mandrake 9.2 AMD64 package and created an RPM file for it. It runs on any Mandrake 9.2 AMD64 installation and is so far very stable and fast.

If you want to, you can put the link on your gimp.org website so people can download it, given that it's on my university server, traffis doesn't really matter and it's also pretty fast. The URL to download it:
http://home.in.tum.de/~jungowsk/mdkexp/gimp2/gimp-2.0pre2-1mdk.x86_64.rpm

I cannot tell whether it'll work with SuSE 9.0 AMD64 but I can tell for sure, that it will not work with any 32-bit OS since it's a 64-bit application built for AMD's Opteron/Athlon64-FX/Athlon64. If you need more information, just ask and like I said, if you want to put the url on gimp.org for people to download it, feel free to do so.

Martin

Can you also post the corresponding src.rpm to the list? Giving just a binary package is not that usefull...

Hi,

I didn't do that for two reasons:

1) The .src.rpm probably would not work since it's linked to the 64-bit libs (lib64)
2) I don't think that checkinstall is capable of creating Source-RPMs.

I do think though that the binary package is useful for some people, since it's a 64-bit binary package for Mandrake 9.2 AMD64. But if you can tell me how to create the Source-RPM (preferably with checkinstall) I might give it a shot.
You have to help me out here though (since I'm a long-time Debian user; Only installed Mandrake to have a 64-bit OS and am not really familiar with RPM whatsoever), is a Source-RPM pre-compiled in any way?

Possible 2.0 pre bug

Hi,

I don't have pre2, but in my (1.3.23, I think) version, the general Convolution Matrix filter seems broken. Is this still broken in the latest? (If so, I'll try to fix it - seems simple.) I couldn't find anything in Bugzilla.

I just checked here on Windows, and it seems that way. Could you open a bugzilla report for this, please? And a fix would be most welcome :)

Cheers, Dave.

Sorry about the vague report, my brain must have been on holiday. What I should have written was: on Linux 1.3.23, pressing OK or Cancel on the Convolution Matrix filter does nothing, and the dialog does not disappear. However, I just checked on Linux 2.0pre1, and it seems to be fixed there. Which Windows version are you looking at?

When looking on bugzilla, You should include resolved bugs in your query. You would probably have found this one then:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129364

Another good way to check if a bug has already been fixed is to search the ChangeLog in CVS.
