Hello GIMPUser, my OS Linux/Ubuntu/Mate 16.04, GIMP 2.9.3 install from PPA Graphic pulled from the file manager, and stored in GIMP gives the following error message:
Translation: Error executing procedure "gimp-image-attach-parasite": 'Gimp-comment' parasite validation failed: comment contains invalid UTF-8
