Hi, i'd suggest to simplify and clean up with all the tool icons around. Merging tools (radio button to change tool behavior in the tool preferences tab)

1) Rectangle/Circle Selection Tool 2) Scissors/Lasso
3) color extractor/foreground extractor 4) Move tool/Align tool
5) Clone/Perspective Clone

If by 'merging' you mean that the GIMP toolbox groups tools into 'families' (preferably with a dropdown menu so you can select the specific tool) then I can support this -- in my GIMP I literally removed half the icons from the toolbox because (1) they're tools I don't use often at all and (2) I wanted to minimize the amount of real estate occupied by the box.

What do you mean with the color extraction tool? I know of no such thing in GIMP :)
