how to get rid of overlapped boxes on html pages

Navingating on the docs.gimp.org/xx pages I just noted that the "Revision history" overlapped much of the html content shown on the site pages. I finally resolved to reading the html source code (agh!) to actually be able to read the web pages content. I can understand that for the developers it could be useful (IMHO not really, anyway) but I think that the public site should be cleaned of theese developers details though.

IMHO

btw: how can I do a local make disabling those windows on the html output? Any help is appreciated...

Well, the reason beeing of those boxes is the idea, that users will be able to recognize the last time of modification of the article.

There was a bug failed:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168255

which should give you more information.

So the problem might be only the appearance of the box? Can you give an example, where the box overlaps text?

The XSLT template needs some enhancements to ignore this information. Not very difficult, but it has to be done in case that information should be disappear.

But it doesn't overlap - it's just missing a left margin. Am I wrong?

In my thoughts, Roman is right. there is just no left margin, not overrap but it seems to need some margin.

No overlap in Firefox 2.0 and IE 7.

I confirm, it overlap on my:

- iceveasel on Debian i386 (17'' Monitor) - firefox 2 on Kubuntu Edgy PPC ibook (12" monitor)

Perhaps is language or locale related?

Oh, that is what you call an overlapping - hmm - looks just like a text box running into the text box from the right side. Looks the same on OS X - Guess it has to look like this?

It's not a real solution, but you can create and edit

gimp-help-2/html/it/gimp-help-custom.css:

div.revhistory { max-height: 0pt;
max-width: 0pt;
}

div.revhistory table { margin-left: 0.5em; /* a useful bugfix */ visibility: hidden; /* it's still there */ float: none; /* seems to work with above max-* */ }

all the revhistory elements are (at least should be) marked with a role="cvs" attribute. Additionally _only_ these elements are marked such. Soooo - they can be removed from the .xml file without much hassle.

to be put into the
plainhtml.xsl and the problem is solved. Anyway I'd suggest to suppress the label for public releases only.

Errr - no? The box just misses a margin and doesn't overlap with the text thats all.

I'll fix it with my next checkin :)
