I'm just having a closer look to the dialogs chapter of the manual. In this topic I'd like to propose a grouping of the dialogs in the manual.

This would give us some advantages: - same depth of the directory structure for tools, menus and dialogs - the sections specific to one dialog would go into sect3 elements and do therefore not pollute the toc in html and pdf version - the sections specific to one dialog would not distributed to different html pages but show up as one

I'd propose to group the dialogs as follows:

1. image structure related dialogs - layers dialog
- channels dialog
- paths dialog
- colormap dialog
- histogram dialog
- GIMP selector dialog
- navigation dialog
- undo dialog

2. image content related dialogs - colors dialog
- brushes dialog
- patterns dialog
- gradients dialog
- palettes dialog
- fonts dialog

3. image management related dialogs - buffers dialog
- images dialog
- document history dialog
- templates dialog

4. misc dialogs - tools dialog
- tooloptions dialog
- device dialog

I'd like to hear what you think about this.
