How to get GIMP 2.8.2 (Mac OS X)

The GIMP team provides an official DMG installer. Just open the downloaded DMG and drag “” into your “Applications” folder.

I don't understand why no one tells us what operating system (and hardware) is required in order for this to install and run. "Mac OSX" doesn't say anything about Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard/Lion/Mountain Lion, nor PPC/Intel/Universal. WTH?

Love it!!! Especially the one-window mode!
One thing though; I can't get image previews on my Mac. It only shows the Gimp-icon with XCF-files...
Any thoughts?
